Thomas and Alice Stahl House

Powder Valley, Pennsylvania

This mid-nineteenth-century stone farmhouse and summer kitchen was purchased by Thomas Stahl in 1907.  In 1908 he added the two-story addition and he and his wife, Alice, finished raising their family of seven daughters and one son in this home.  Alice remained in the house after Thomas’ death in 1942 until she sold the property, which included the potting shed and kiln, to Russell Stahl, Thomas’ nephew, in 1957.  Today it serves as the museum for Stahl’s Pottery Preservation Society, Inc.

Fifth in the Powder Valley series by Stahl’s Pottery Preservation Society, Inc.
