Powder Valley General Store

Powder Valley, Pennsylvania

In the late 1800's and early 1900's this building contained the general store and post office for Powder Valley.  Some of the proprietors were S. Sterner, D. Berkey, Danner, and William Miller.  The general store served as the center of community life.  For a short time in the 1930's the building was known as the Indian Lake House, a hotel.  Late in the 1930's it was sold to Amandus Miller and his sons.  They converted it to a two-family dwelling.

Fourth in the Powder Valley series by Stahl’s Pottery Preservation Society, Inc.
